Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg on August 8th claimed that “systemic racism is a white problem”, Fox News reports. He also added, that the United States “even halfway done dealing with” this problem.

Buttigieg said so at the conference in Miami FL, in front of the National Association of Black Journalists. Talking about President Trump, Buttigieg also said “I think a president like this one is not even possible unless something is already deeply wrong in our country”.

Following these statements, he also said that he believes that Donald Trump is a white supremacist. Answering the journalist’s question he simply said “I do.”

The South Bend mayor was not alone on stage. Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders were also invited to the conference by the National Association of Black Journalists.

The conference was divided into half-hour question-and-answer sessions and is a part of a national convention. It was held at the J.W. Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in Aventura and was mostly focused on the issues of racism and racial inequality.

Addressing these issues, Buttigieg also underlined that they will eventually destabilize the United States as a country.

And while Bernie Sanders also didn’t waste his opportunity to blame Trump for being a demagogue, he spent most of his time on stage explaining his presidential campaign details.
